International Guidelines for Intensive Care in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome

The article describes a differential approach to the principles of intensive care of acute respiratory distress syndrome depending on the causes, time from the onset of the disease and the leading pathogenetic mechanisms. There are presented the goals of respiratory support, absolute and relative indications for the start of the respiratory therapy for acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is indicated that respiratory support in different modes is the method of temporary prosthetics of respiratory function, provides time for recovery of lung function adequacy.
