The New Scale for Assessing Severity and Outcome Prediction in Зatients with Severe Sepsis and Septic Shock — Sepsis Severity Score

L.A. Maltseva, N.F. Mosentsev, D.V. Bazilenko

This article is intended to familiarize anesthetists with the scale of assessment severity and outcome prediction in patients with severe sepsis and septic shock — Sepsis Severity Score (SSS). SSS model is an acceptable for septic patients only, whereas other scales are used for all groups of patients in intensive care units. SSS accurately assesses the risk of hospital mortality in patients having severe sepsis and septic shock.
