Perfusion Index in Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy Practice (Literature Review)

S.V. Kursov

Abstract

The literature review deals with diagnostic values of perfusion index that denotes the capability of volume peripheral blood flow estimated by means of photoplethysmography while pulse oxymetry. The article specifies standard values of the index as well as its distinctive changes under conditions of different pathologic states in applied studies and clinical practice.

Keywords

perfusion index; hemodynamics; pulse oxymetry; photoplethysmography
