Multiple Spontaneous Ruptures of the Liver as the Cause of Massive Bleeding in the Postpartum Period in a Woman with Peliosis Hepatis (Clinical Surveillance)

H.V. Bevz

Abstract

The spontaneous hepatic ruptures during pregnancy or in the puerperium are quite rare (1 case per 15,000), but are characterized by an extreme severity. Most of them are associated with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. Most often they are complications of preeclampsia/eclampsia and/or HELLP syndrome. We described a case of ruptured subcapsular liver hematomas with massive intraperitoneal bleeding that occurred in the postpartum period in a 24-year-old multiparous woman with рeliosis hepatis.
