Nutritional Support and Choice of Its Strategy in Critical Ill Patients

L.M. Smirnova

Abstract

A retrospective and prospective analysis of the clinical course of perioperative period in 190 patients with complicated operational trauma has been carried out. At baseline all patients had nosogenic violations of energy homeostasis, corresponded to III functional class by ASA. We have studied the metabolic parameters responsible for conjugation of energostruсtural interactions in cells of the body. In the study of the metabolic component we have encountered well-known difficulties, leading to significant errors in determining caloric intake. The development of mathematical expression which enables to calculate accurately the energy component of nutritional support for surgical patients, depending on the functional state, became the result of clinical researches.
