Possible Applications of Albumin in the Therapy of Critical Conditions: Current State of the Problem

Abstract


The article examines the use of albumin in the treatment of critical conditions, such as liver cirrhosis, ascites, surgical interventions, including heart surgeries, thermal injury, brain injury, sepsis. Effects of albumin are described in detail, advantages of albumin compared with artificial plasma substitutes and blood plasma are specified.
