Anesthesia and Intensive Care in Pregnant Women with Preeclampsia/Eclampsia

Ya.M. Pidgirny

This lecture describes the issues on diagnosis, prevention and pathophysiological changes during pregnancy complicated by preeclampsia/eclampsia. We show the current approach to anesthetic management of surgical interventions and intensive care of pregnant women with preeclampsia/eclampsia. We want to emphasize that the treatment of these patients should be carried out by the team of doctors including obstetrician-gynecologist, anesthesiologist and, if necessary, highly qualified doctors of other specialties (cardiologists, neurologists, surgeons, ophthalmologists, etc) should be involved.
