Abstract

This review presents the problem of the use of the balanced polyionic solutions with carrier of reserve alkalinity — sodium lactate, their place in the modern infusion therapy. It is shown that despite a relatively long period after the discovery of the first multicomponent balanced salt solutions with lactate, they remain relevant and in-demand in clinical practice. The emergence of a new generation of polyionic multifunctional solutions aroused a considerable interest among clinicians. Many works characterize them as effective and relatively safe medications, which have found their place in the treatment of critical and urgent conditions.
