Abstract

The authors analyzed the current guidelines of Brain Trauma Foundation and ERABI team (Evidence-Based Review of Moderate to Severe Acquired Brain Injury). The article summarizes the main points of the existing international guidelines with new researches on the treatment of patients with severe traumatic brain injury; discusses intracranial pressure monitoring and ways of non-pharmacological and pharmacological impact on this indicator. In addition, attention is paid to maintain optimal systemic blood pressure, temperature regulation, prevention of seizures. Questions of neuroprotection are also discussed in this material.
